Frequently asked questions
What is FundSpec?
FundSpec is a market research terminal for US stocks and ETFs. It combines quotes, charts, news, earnings, analyst ratings, unusual options activity, technicals, fundamentals, its own momentum and fair value models, and AI trading models that publish their record, in one app on iOS, Android and the web.
Do I need an account?
No. Markets, stock and ETF pages, the screener, the compare view, analyst ratings, earnings and delayed options activity all work without signing in. An account adds a watchlist that follows you across devices, alerts, saved screeners and analyses, and the FundSpec AI chat history. Accounts are free.
Is the data realtime?
Quotes and index levels update live during market hours. Unusual options prints are shown twenty minutes after they print for free accounts and in realtime for FundSpec Unlimited subscribers. Fundamentals, technicals, momentum and fair value are recomputed every night after the close.
Where do the fundamentals come from?
From the financial statements companies file with the SEC, read directly from EDGAR. FundSpec keeps each reported period so that trailing twelve month figures and ratios are built from the actual quarters. The methodology page has the details.
What does FundSpec Unlimited include?
Unlimited unlocks the AI models' calls as they are published, realtime options flow with custom screeners and alerts, the FundSpec fair value and momentum reads on every stock and ETF, price, earnings, ratings and options alerts, social sentiment, saved chart analyses, and the valuation and trading model builders. Subscribers see no advertising in the apps. Monthly and annual plans are available in the apps and on the web.
What are the FundSpec AI tiers?
FundSpec AI tiers add capacity for the reinforcement learning trading models you train yourself, with the higher tiers unlocking deeper model architectures and manual tuning. They are available through the App Store and Google Play.
Does FundSpec place trades?
No. FundSpec does not connect to a brokerage account and never executes an order. The models publish signals; every trading decision is yours.
Are the AI models' results real?
Yes, and they are published in full. Every released model shows the closed trades it has taken on its ticker, its win rate, the average winning move and its profit factor, with losses listed alongside wins. The record is computed from the model's own published calls against subsequent prices. A strong record is still history, not a promise.
What is momentum on FundSpec?
A description of each stock's recent price trend: Bullish, Bearish or Neutral, with a confidence that reflects how established the trend is. Your Trader Profile sets the horizon it reads, from the long trend to the current week's move. It describes what the price has done. It does not predict what it will do next.
How is fair value calculated?
It blends what the company would be worth at its industry's typical pricing of earnings, sales, book value and cash flow with what the whole market's cross section implies for a company with its fundamentals. The result is adjusted for the market's overall valuation level, rated from Significantly Undervalued to Significantly Overvalued, and shown with a range calibrated on history. It is an automated estimate from public filing data and knows nothing that is not in the filings.
Can I build my own models?
Subscribers can build valuation models, a discounted cash flow, a relative value model against peers you choose, or a scenario analysis with Monte Carlo simulation, through a guided wizard or a worksheet. They can also train a reinforcement learning trading model on any US stock or ETF, on daily or intraday bars, without writing code.
Which alerts can I set?
Price alerts at a level or a percentage move, earnings alerts before a company reports, analyst ratings alerts, options flow alerts when a print matches a saved screener, top news and watchlist news alerts, and the morning brief and market close summary for your watchlist, delivered by push notification and email.
Does the web app do everything the mobile apps do?
Nearly. The web app at fundspec.ai shares your account, watchlist, alerts and models with the mobile apps. FundSpec AI model tiers are purchased through the app stores, and push notifications are a mobile feature; the web app still shows every alert in its own screens.
Which stocks and ETFs are covered?
US listed stocks and ETFs. Coverage of individual figures depends on the data: a newly listed company has no filing history for fundamentals, an ETF has no analyst coverage, and a thinly traded name may show Neutral momentum because its price series is not reliable enough to describe.
How do I cancel or restore a subscription?
Subscriptions bought on iOS are cancelled from your Apple ID subscription settings and on Android from Google Play; web subscriptions are managed through the billing link in Settings on fundspec.ai. To restore a purchase on a new device, open the subscription screen and choose Restore Purchase.
How do I delete my account?
Open the menu in the app and choose Account Deletion Request. Requests are reviewed by our support team and can take up to a week to process. Once processed, your account and its data, including your watchlist, alerts, saved analyses and custom models, are removed and cannot be restored.
How do I report a data error?
Email support@vembar.io with the ticker, the figure and the screen it appears on, or use Help and Feedback in the app. We check every report against the source data.
Is FundSpec investment advice?
No. FundSpec provides information for research and education. Nothing on the site or in the app is a recommendation to buy or sell any security.
