About FundSpec
FundSpec is a market research terminal for US stocks and ETFs, built for people who take their own trading and investing seriously. It runs on the web at fundspec.ai and as an app on iOS and Android, with one account and one watchlist across all three.
The name is short for Fundamental Speculation, the idea that a speculative position should still rest on fundamentals you have actually examined. Everything in the product follows from that: the data is primary, the models show their work, and nothing is presented as a certainty.
What FundSpec does
A single stock or ETF page brings together what would otherwise take a dozen tabs: the live quote and chart, recent news, the earnings history and the next report date, analyst rating changes and price targets, insider transactions, social sentiment, unusual options activity, technical indicators, momentum, fundamentals and financial statements, and the company's own SEC filings.
Across the whole market, FundSpec tracks the major indices, sector performance, the day's unusual options prints, analyst upgrades and downgrades, the earnings calendar and the calls published by its AI trading models. A screener narrows thousands of US stocks down to the handful that match your criteria, and a compare view lines up stocks and ETFs side by side on performance, valuation and fundamentals.
For valuation, FundSpec publishes its own daily fair value estimate for US companies and gives you the tools to build your own: discounted cash flow, relative value against peers, and scenario analysis. For trading, its reinforcement learning models publish buy and sell calls during the session together with every closed trade they have ever made, and you can train a model of your own on any ticker without writing code.
Where the data comes from
Company fundamentals come from the financial statements companies file with the US Securities and Exchange Commission, read directly from SEC EDGAR and rebuilt every night. Prices, quotes, options prints, analyst actions and earnings data come from licensed market data providers. The methodology page explains how each figure on the site is produced, how often it refreshes, and where its limits are.
FundSpec does not place trades and does not connect to a brokerage account. It is a research tool. What you do with the research is up to you.
Free and paid
Most of FundSpec is free: quotes, charts, news, earnings, analyst ratings, filings, technicals, sector performance, the screener, the compare view, delayed unusual options activity, and the record of every closed trade the AI models have made.
FundSpec Unlimited is a subscription that unlocks the live model calls as they are published, realtime options flow and custom flow screeners, the FundSpec fair value and momentum reads on every stock, alerts for prices, earnings, ratings and options, saved chart analyses, and the valuation and trading model builders. FundSpec AI tiers add capacity for the custom trading models you train yourself. Subscribers see no advertising in the apps.
Who makes it
FundSpec is designed and built by Vembar, LLC, a Connecticut company based in Milford. The same team publishes two companion apps: Options Sentiment Screener, which tracks unusual options activity across the market, and Just Stock Quotes, a fast quote and watchlist app. FundSpec has been published on the App Store and Google Play since 2019 and is updated continuously.
How we write about our own models
Every model on FundSpec is described by what it measures and by its record. Momentum is a description of recent price behaviour, not a forecast, and the site says so wherever it appears. The AI trading models publish their wins and their losses in the same list. Fair value is an automated estimate from public filing data and is labelled as such. If a number cannot be checked, it does not go on the page.
